Founder and CEO
Scorpeus Consulting is headed up by its Founder and CEO Simon Davies. Simon is a UK trained Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of broad and extensive industry experience in financial and commercial roles both in the UK and overseas. His expertise spans both private equity investment as well as hands-on business management with a strong track record in corporate restructuring & portfolio realignment, business improvement and turnaround situations. During his extensive career, Simon has developed proven business leadership skills with a trait for rapidly identifying viable roadmaps for businesses; whether start-ups, those that are fast growing or others that are experiencing financial, commercial or operational difficulties.
From 2002 to 2007, Simon was based in Dubai as Chief Operating Officer at a major private equity group, where he was instrumental in developing the firm into what at that time was one of the region’s most formidable and pioneering private equity players. Simon’s primary roles were to operationally build an institutional framework upon which the private equity activities could be cultivated and instigate post-acquisition operational improvements in his position as board director on portfolio companies. Simon’s secondary lines of responsibility required an input into debt fund raising as well as investment structuring and appraisal in his role on the investment committee. Once the institutional framework was complete, Simon left the firm.
After an extended sabbatical, Simon established an advisory practice focusing on providing practical assistance to the private equity industry in multiple continents. He subsequently developed his focus to include broad activity across several sectors working alongside a variety of stakeholders, helping clients to achieve enhanced efficiency and profitability, as well as providing restructuring & improvement options and realigning existing under-performing businesses to achieve their potential. Thereafter, Simon has focused the majority of his time on ‘Concept Incubating’ nascent ideas, identifying efficient and effective solutions to under-utilisation of business resources. Some of these are in various stages of implementation.
More recently, Simon has completed the first two volumes of a trilogy based upon a fictional private equity firm based in Dubai with a planned publication date during 2025. The final volume is firmly underway. More information is available at https://prequiti.godaddysites.com
